1760: Abel was living in Prince George County, Maryland.
1771: Roster of South Carolina Patiots in the American Revolution. Abel, R.S.served 306 days. He was wounded in action. An indenture was issued to Abel, R.S. on 28 May 1785 for twenty one pounds sterling, seventeen shillings, one penny, and one half penny for duty in the South Carolina Militia from 1781 through 1782.
