An indenture was issued to Abel, R.S. on 28 May 1785 for twenty one pounds sterling, seventeen shillings, one penny, and one half penny for duty in the South Carolina Militia from 1781 through 1782. 28 May 1785: Indenture issued for Abel Akridge, R. S. to receive twenty one pounds Sterling, seventeen Shillings, one penny, and one half penny for duty in the militia, 1781-1782.
