Many other family trees say that Jonathan Chubbuck died at Halifax, Nova Scotia, in 1762. But I have found no source for this claim.

Jonathan possibly died in Bedford, where the town records note the death of a Jonathan Chubbuck on 29 Sep 1784. There was no age given. There were no parents named, so this is probably not Jonathan, the son of Simeon, born 27 Aug 1778 in Bedford.

All four of Jonathan's surviving children by his wife Hannah Marble were living in Bedford, so it's likely that he moved there around 1780. Here are the years that certain names first appeared in the Bedford town record tax lists: 1777 - Ensign Chubbuck (brother); 1778 - Simeon Chubbuck (son); 1780 - Ezekiel Gardner (husb. of daughter Betsey); 1781 - Levi Chubbuck (son); Issac Atwood (husb. of daughter Hannah) was in Bedford (according to affadavit in Rev Pension record for Simeon Chubbuck) but I didn't lookup his name in the tax records.
