Note: 1803 Maastricht marriage record says born in "Stockhem,Departement de la Meuse inf.".
(Stokkem is about 20 km north of Maastricht. It was in the Bishopric of Liège/Luik (now in the Belgian part of Limburg Province), but just barely. It sits on the west bank of the Maas (Meuse), which is in Belgium. Maastricht is on the other bank in Netherlands part of Limburg Province. In maps of the period, Stokkem appears as Stockem or Stochem.)
The Catholic church records of Stokkem (copy in possession of Irma Lommen who provided this information) have the baptism of Mechtildis Claessens on 14 Sep 1781.
1835 marriage record of daughter Maria Catharina Helena Geelkens gives the bride's mother as Anna Mechtildis Claessens, age 53, married to Joannes Doijens, and living in Maastricht at the time of the marriage.
Husband Frederik Geelkens died in 1827, and the 1835 marriage record indicates that she's married to a fellow with the last name of Doijens.
