1803 Maastricht marriage record (in French) says Jean Pierre Gielkens and Mechtilde Claessens married 06-Oct-1803. Groom's parents were Jean Pierre Gielkens and Jeanne Marie Silverentant and the groom was born 15-Nov-1770 in Galoppe(Gulpen).

1827 Maastricht death record says Jan Pieter Gielkens died 20 Nov 1827 at age 57 and that he was a beer brewer. He was born in Gulpen, Province Limburg, husband of Mechtildis Claessens, son of Jan Pieter Gielkens and Joanna Maria __verentant (can't make out the first couple of letters), both deceased. A declarator was Joannes Lambert Moors, age 25, son in law of the deceased (a marriage between this person and Joanna Maria Geelkens was recorded in Maastricht in 1826).

1835 Maastricht marriage record of daughter Catharina Helena Geelkens says her father, Frederick Geelkens died in Maastricht 20 Nov 1827. Later in this marriage record, it refers to Franciscus Geelkens and says the death Extract for the father named him Jan Pieter Geelkens.

The Catholic church records of Gulpen (researched by Irma Lommen who provided this information) have the baptism of Joannes Petrus Gielkens on 15 Nov 1770.

He had a brother with the same exact name who was baptized on 16 Jul 1776 and another brother named Joannes Fredericus who was baptized 17 Jan 1772. So maybe the Fredericus brother died and his parents 'gave' that name to the older brother, and then named another one Joannes Petrus? If so, is that ever confusing...
