ID: I395
Name: Josepha "Sophia" Ibach | Ebaugh
Sex: F
Birth: 01 Dec 1844 in Preston, Waterloo, Ontario
Death: 05 May 1909 in Long Prairie, Minnesota
Immigration: Abt 1862 Michigan (with parents)
Change Date: 19 May 2009
Note: The only known record of a first name of "Josephine" is from son George's birth record, but I think that was the clerk's attempt to use a proper name for "Sophia".
The mother's name was "Sophia Ebaugh" on son Thomas' death record in Washington.
Baptismal record from St. Agatha Parish, Preston, Ontario (in archives of St. Jerome University in Preston, Ontario) - "Maria Josepha born 1st December 1844 baptized 26th March 1845 is the daughter of Antoni Bach(sic) and his wife Rufinae, nee Hoffman. Godparents were Morandus Compass and Maria Josepha Hoffman". Baptismal information is courtesy of Earl Ebach, Midland Michigan.
1870 census (see husband Maynard for details); Sophia, age 26, born in Prussia.
1880 census (see husband Maynard for details); wife Soffia, age 35, born in Canada, parents born in Canada(sic).
1900 census (see husband Maynard for details); wife Sophia, age 54, born Dec 1845 in Canada, married 37 years, had 9 children, 7 still living, parents born in Germany, no immigration info.
Census info implies parents emigrated from Germany to Canada, which is, indeed, the case.
There is no Todd county death record.
