Know all men by these presents that I Stephen Baldwin of Vershire in Orange County and State of Vermont for the consideration of One Thousand Dollars Lawfull Money paid to my full satisfaction by David Sleeper of Sandown in Rockingham County and State of New Hampshire have and hereby do freely give grant Sell[?] and confirm unto him the said David his Heirs and assigns forever a certain piece of Land in Vershire aforesaid described as follows - viz - forty acres [description of property omitted] ...
So have and to hold the above granted and bargained premises with all the priveldges and Appertinances thereof to the [??] David Sleeper his Heirs and Assigns to his and their own Use and Be hoof[?] forever - And I the said Stephen Baldwin for myself and my Heirs Executors and Administrators do covenant with the said David Sleeper that untill [??]ing these presents I am the sole owner of the premises And that they are free from every incumbrance . . . . And Thereby engage to Warrant and Defend the Same against all Lawfull Claims whatsoever.

So David was living in Sandown when he bought property in Vershire on 02 Oct 1802. That means James and Timothy were not born in Vershire and were likely born in Sandown.
Vershire Town Records, p. 58, has sworn statement by David Sleeper: "These certify whoom(sic) they may concern that I the subscriber am not agreed with the majority of who profefs to be of the order of Congregationalists in Vershire therefore I enter my decent(sic) given under my hand this 19th of Septem 1803 -- (signed)David Sleeper in the presents(sic) of --     Thos Gates(?) Town Clerk for Vershire"
Vershire Town Records, p. 118, lists the children of David Sleeper (no mention of wife's name). James, Timothy, and Sally were all registered at the same time, dated 24 Oct 1807.
David and Rachel returned to Sandown from Vershire after the death of David's mother in 1823.
David and Rachel are buried in North Side Cemetery, Sandown, NH.
David made his will on 23 Dec 1845. It was probated in 1846 - #OS-15184 Rockingham NH county courthouse. Wife: Rachel; eldest son, James Sleeper, the income from the farm;son, Timothy Sleeper, and daughters, Sally Wilson and Rachel Sanborn, one dollar each. To grandson, James B.
