Her grave marker is in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Long Prairie, Minnesota about 100 feet in from the main entrance right next to the roadway. It is a tall obelisk-type marker with IBACH on the base on the east side. Only the east side of the obelisk has an inscription: "ROUPHENA" / "wife of A. Ibach" / "Died Dec. 2, 1883" / "Aged 67 Yrs. 1 Mo.".

She apparently died while visiting her daughter, Sophia Bock, in Long Prairie. The will of her husband, Anthony, probated 3 years later in 1886, specified that a marker be put on her grave. The name Rouphena should have been spelled Rufina, which is the name of several Catholic saints.
Earl Ebach received a copy of the Death/Burial record for Rufina Ibach from the secretary at St. Mary of Mount Carmel Church in Long Prairie. It reads:
(1883) #16 Ibach, Rufina - died 2 Dec - buried 6 Dec - age 67 years 22 days (Father) I Tomazin
Earl said "The record also indicates she was not buried until 4 days after her death, which is strange. Dec 2 1883 was on a Sunday and she was not buried until Thursday, Dec 6 1883. This lends credence to my theory that she might have died in a different county and was taken to Long Prairie, Todd County, for burial. The Todd County Clerk's office says they have no death record. The church indicates they have no sexton for the cemetery."
