Note: Green Hill of Bute County, North Carolina was a member of Provincial Congress, which met at Newbern, North Carolina, August 25th 1774. (See the North Carolina Journals 1774 and Martins History of North Carolina Volume 11 page 305. and Wheelers History of North Carolina, Volume 1, page 64.)
Col. Green Hill was also a member of the provincial congress which met at Newburn, N. C. 8/25/1774 and at Halifax, N. C. which met April 4, 1776.
The history of Methodism in Tennessee is the authority for stating that Col. Green Hill, born 1714, who settled in Williams County, Tennessee was a Colonel of North Carolina militia during the revolutionary war.
