    ÙCbÙD News & Observer ROANOKE RAPIDS WILLIAM CLARENCE "BILL" BAILEY, 81, of 526 Three Bridges Road, Roanoke Rapids died Tuesday, October 5, 2004 at Wake Medical Center in Raleigh. He was retired after having served as Sherriff of Halifax County for 16 years. He was a Mason and Shriner. Funeral services 11:00 a.m. Friday, October 8, 2004 at Hockaday Funeral Home Chapel with Minister Greg Hand conducting. Burial will follow in Cedarwood Cemetery. Family to receive friends 6:00- 8:30 p.m. Thursday at Hockaday Funeral Home; and other times at the home. Survived by his wife, Hollie Bridgers Bailey; two daughters, Barbara Garner and her husband, William of Roanoke Rapids, and Kathy Bennett and husband, Craig of Wilkesboro, NC; son, Michael Bailey and wife, Frannie of Raleigh, and a stepson, Billy Futrell and wife, Sallie of Jackson; brother, Roland C. Bailey and wife, Betty of Roanoke, VA; grandchildren, Nikki Bullock, Bryan Garner, Brad Bennett, Erin Bennett, Allison Bennett, Lenny Bailey, Dylan Bailey, Elizabeth Futrell, Anne Futrell and Will Futrell; and four great-grandchildren.
