He was a member of Haws Avenue Methodist Episcopal Church, Norristown. Golf was his favorite sport. Among the organizations of which he was a member were the Rotary Club, Whitemarsh Valley Country Club, Manufacturer's Club of Philadelphia and the Norristown Club, and he was also affiliated with the Masonic and other fraternal orders.
