  • Note: She studied medicine and was a practicing physician for fifty-nine years, being especially successful in her treatment of cancer and skin diseases. She was greatly beloved because of her kindly sympathy for the afflicted. Dr. Spare was the first treasurer of the Spare Reunion, serving from 1903 until 1917.
