Your g.grandfather Marshall McCoy is of MY line. His parenst were Harriet Caroline HAYGOOD b. 1817 in Fairfield Co., SC daughter of Elijah Lemuel/Samuel HAYGOOD and his wife, Margaret BROWN and Elijah S. "Lige" McCOY b. 1818 in Amite Co., MS . Except for a short time spent in St. Helena Parish, LA Elijah McCoy lived and died in the county of his birth. He was the son of Jesse McCoy and Eliza Ann "Nancy" McCoy, supposedly cousins.
Harriet & Elijah had eleven issue: John Reeves, Maragret Ann, Mary Jane, James Brown, Warren, Frank, Marshall,
Napoleon, Poindexter, Osborn, and Joseph.
If I can be of further help, please let me know. You do know that our lines
goes back to 1650 in the English Colonies? Best regards, John E.
