Mrs. Bertha Justice Jacobs, 69, of 1026 Richland St., died Tuesday, Nov. 26, 1996, at 205 Brookview Circle, Jamestown, at the home of her daughter.
The funeral was held 10 a.m. Friday at Christ Community Church, by the Rev. Jeffrey P. Palmer and the Rev. Morris Brown. A graveside service was held 2:30 p.m. at Round Hill Baptist Church in Union Mills, by the Rev. Joseph Nanney and the Rev. Nelson Brooks.
Mrs. Jacobs was born May 25, 1927, in Rutherford County, a daughter of John C. and Martha Blankenship Justice. She was employed with Tobias Store for 20 years, retiring in 1990, and was a member of Christ Community Church and the Dorcas Sunday School Class. On March 16, 1946, she married James Robert Jacobs, who preceded her in death on July 23, 1959.
Surviving are one daughter and son-in-law, Judy and George Royster of Jamestown; one son and daughter-in-law, James Robert 'Jimmy' and Connie Jacobs of Denton; one sister, Mrs. Gladys Doggett and husband, Walton of Rutherfordton; one brother, Earl Justice of Rutherfordton; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
