Source: Information has been provided by a descendants of Phillip and Gabriel, Patricia Ann Thomas Pegram, Janice Jessee Tiller, and Irene Jessee Perry, which indicates that Gabriel is the son of Phillip and Rachel Jessee, who may possibly be brother or cousin of John Jessee (1750-1816) of Mill Creek.

Source: Pat Pegram, 6/18/98, via e-mail provided the following. "Tom [Rudder] had that Phillip's daughter Mary was born 1802 in Botetourt Co., (1850 RC Census). I have a photocopy of the original Bureau of Vital Statistic death, located in Richmond, VA, of Mary's death. Her name is listed as SmcKinney, Mary (Atkins Book of RC Deaths page 68 lists her as Mary Sue Kinney-I disagree looking at the photocopy), white, female, death date of Oct 20, 1887, at New Garden, of old age, at the age of 94 (which would place her born abt 1793). Name of Parents as Phil and Rachel Jessee, she was born in Russell Co. (by ditto marks down a whole page, but according to the 1850 Census, this should be Botetourt Co.). Her occupation was housekeeper, and the consort of S mcKinney."
