    !NAME-RELATIONSHIP: Jewel Family Bibles; ; Bibles published at various dates, title pages missing; ; Original pages in poss of James Geary, Harrisonburg VA; NOTE: The only documentation that the father of Elizabeth Graham who married Thomas Jewel was named James is in a family Bible given to Mary Winston Jewel in 1932 by her aunt, Lucinda Nunley. The entry, in Mary Winston's handwriting, reads: "Thomas Jewel B.July 1764 D. Nov. 27, 1853, Married Elizabeth Graham whose parents were James & Sarah Graham." Several researchers on the Graham family have had the impression his name was James, but there is no hard documentation to that effect.

    !NOTE: There are in the poss of James J. Geary, Harrisonburg VA, quite a number of references to Graham and Grimes in Augusta, Bedford, Franklin and Montgomery counties that may or may not have a connection with this Graham. At least one researcher believed the name had been changed, possibly because of association or alleged association with Tories during the American Revolution.
