        C. L. Ryan, 77 Dies Tuesday At Talcott
        Funeral Services to be held Thursday, Afternoon at 2'0 Clock at Talcott
        Charles Lewis Ryan, 77, former well known resident of this city died last night at his home in Talcott after a lingering illness more than six months. Death was due to old age and a complication of diseases.
        Mr. Ryan, until three years ago was toll collector at the Hinton Toll Bridge. He served in that capacity for ten years and was a very widely known character.
        He was born in Montgomery County, Va. on April 17, 1856, and came to Summers County with his parents when a young man. He lived in Jumping Branch for about ten years afterwards moving to Talcott, where he was engaged in farming. After leaving Hinton he moved back to Talcott where he resided until his death.
        Mr. Ryan was married three times, his first wife being Miss Minerva Lilly of Jumping Branch, and by this union twelve children were born seven of whom survive. They are as follows: B. G. Ryan, E. M. Ryan, J. S. Ryan and W. B. Ryan of Beckley; C. C. Ryan of Louisa, Ky; Mrs. George Campbell of Baltimore and Mrs. Ellen Hundley of Baltimore.
        His second wife was Miss Maggie Jewell, and by this union one child was born, Miss Oma, who survives.
        His third wife who was formerly Mrs. Lennie Voy, also survives him.
        Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 2:30 at the home at Talcott, with Rev. H. P. Hackney, pastor of the Central Baptist church, in charge Burial will follow in the Talcott Cemetery.
