Charles served in the Confederate Army in Captain T.C. English's company of mounted infantry. In 1870 he was living in the home of his father Charles. He sold the Weatherford Estate on Little River to Frank Earle of Blacksher Co., Alabama. He lived at Mount Pleasant. Charles was found dead on Shomo Creek, leaning against a tree where he had been fishing.
A few years before he died he and Martha deeded an acre of the land to the trustees of the Weatherford Church for the purpose of building a Church. Trustees were Mr. G.G. Kirchharr, Mr. L.R. Daniel and Mr. E.E. Boone. The land is where Weatherford's Spring is now located and where the Weatherford Baptist Church once stood. It is now owned by Mr. and Mrs. Carey Harris of Uriah, Alabama.

Married: on 2/28/1861, at Mt. Pleasant, Monroe Co., AL with McDuff Mann as security, R. Y. Reaves Pastor.
Died: 9/13/1909 or 6/13/1896, Monroe Co., AL
Buried: in Weatherford Cemetery, Monroe Co., AL.
