BIOGRAPHY:
His original family name was Jacobi, from Germany and he came to the US in 1741, per letter dtd 1927 to Laurstine and the Jacoby Family history book. Later they changed the family name to Jacoby.
Here is an abstract from Jacoby Family Genealogy, page 69-82:.
Peter JACOBI was born 1710 in Pfalz, Bayern, Germany. Peter probably left the Palatinate (Pfalz) area of Germany because economic distress from the European wars the years before and the incentives of the providence formed by William Penn. Jacoby landed in Philadelphia on Sept 26, 1741, on the ship St. Mark. The trip over was arduous probably consisting of travel by river down the Rhine to Rotterdam; a 5 week detention in Holland and then a boat to Cowes, England for clearance papers; then to Philadelphia for a total anywhere from 5 weeks to 6 months.
From the dates of his children he must have traveled with a wife and 2 sons. He signed an oath of allegiance on his arrival on Sept 26, 1741; then Peter settled in Bucks county of PA along with many other Germans from Palatinate.
Peter's wife was Mary Elizabeth Heuer and the children were:

5. Margaret, 6 Jan 1749
The published genealogy doesn't seem to cover much from 1750 to 1761 when Peter died.
Records of the Reformed Church of Tohickon (Bedminster Twp) have John Jacoby, son of the late Peter Jacobi of Heacock Twp, and Anna Eberhard daughter of the late Michael Eberhard. This locates Peters home in Heacock Township.
Land office records have Mary Elizabeth Jacobi getting a land warrant for land 3 miles from Tohickon Creek, Bucks Co, in 1761 the same year Peter died.
Maria died in 1790 and both Peter and Maria are buried in the graveyard at the Tohickon Church, but the headstones have disintegrated.

BURIAL: from Jacoby book, pg 77 & 81. Tohickon Church Yard., Bedminster, Bucks, PA. Bedminster is just north of Philadelphia. Both tombstones have disintegrated. Son Conrad, daughter Margaret and her husband Andrew Snyder are buried next to them.

My Revolutionary ancestor was married to:
Maria Kern at Bucks Co. PA.
The date of the marriage is not present. The German Reformed Records of the Fohicken Church, Bucks Co. PA give the birth of the oldest child as 12-11-1761 and Baptism 1-28-1762. These church records are published by the Penn. German Society, 1925 Vol 31. It has a complete index.
