    John Baker FUNERAL will be HELD SUNDAY (from findagrave.com - publisher unknown)
    John Baker, Civil War veteran who died yesterday-noon at his home, St. Vincent and O'Conor avenues, will be laid at rest Sunday afternoon in Oakwood cemetery. Services will be held at the family home.
    Mr. Baker, who had been ailing four months with a complication of diseases, was born in Somersetshire, England, Oct, 19, 1840, and came to this country with his parents at the age of seventeen, settling in Pittsburgh. Four years later, when the Civil war broke out, be enlisted and served until his honorable discharge. After the war he came to La Salle and engaged In mining for about 25 years,
    Subsequently he went gardening at which he was engaged up to the time he was taken sick.
    In 1868 Mr. Baker was married to Susannah Jenkins of Pennsylvania and to them thirteen children born, three of whom died In infancy.. The widow and the follow children survive:
    Mrs. D. L. as Miles, La Salle: Mrs James Knapp, Wapato. Wash.; Mrs. Thom Streightiff, La Salle; Miss Sarah, La Salle; James, Chicago; Thomas, John, George and Arthur or La Salle and Edward Camp Pike, Ark.
