Mrs. S. Baker, 81, Pioneer La Salle resident, Dead
Mrs. Susanna Baker, 81, for many years a resident of La Salle, died at 7:30 am this morning at her home on O'Connor Ave after a several months illness with a complication of ailments.
Mrs. Baker, who was the widow of John Baker, was born in Pittsburgh, Pa. and came to La Salle at an early age add spent the greater part of her life here.
She is survived by three daughter, Mrs. D. L. Knapp, of Yakima, WA; Mrs. James Streightiff, of Detroit, and Miss Sarah, at home; six sons, James of Chicago, and Thomas, John, Arthur, George and Edward,. of La Salle; two sisters, Mrs. Sarah weeks, of Chicago, and Mrs. John Guy, of Streator; two brothers, Thomas Jenkins, of San Francisco, and John Jenkins of Streator; twelve grandchildren and four great-grand-children.
Pending the arrival of Mrs. Steightiff from Detroit, funeral arrangements have not been completed.
