    OBITUARY:


    D.L. Thomas, 69, of Blue Creek Road, died Saturday, April 15, 2000.

    A native of Towns County, Mr. Thomas was a son of the late Walter and Hazel Dyer Thomas... [ERROR: HAZEL DYER WAS HIS WIFE. HIS MOTHER WAS LULA CANUP]. He was retired from Fieldale Farms and was of the Baptist faith.

    Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Whitfield Funeral Home, Demorest, with the Revs. Edwin H. Taylor and Mark Akin officiating. Burial will be in Yonah Memorial Gardens.

    Survivors include a daughter, Stephanie Martin, Clarkesville; two sons, Roy Lee Thomas, Clarkesville, and Larry Thomas, Crawfordville, Fla.; a sister, Susie Stewart, Pendleton, S.C.; three brothers, Earl Thomas, Mt. Airy, David Thomas, Gainesville, and Melvin Thomas, Eatonton; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

    The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
