Sarah was born at the Mt. Jolly Plantation in Pendleton Co., SC. (That area was in Pendleton Co., SC, until 1826, when Pendleton Co. was divided into Anderson Co. and Pickens Co., in 1826. Pendleton Co. ceased to exist on that date.)

Clemson University is located in Pickens Co., SC, about 5 miles NW of Pendleton, Anderson Co., SC. There is no "Richard Wright Simpson Experiment Farm" that I can find on the Internet; however, there is a "Simpson Research Center" (AKA Simpson Station) connected to Clemson University. This Center/Station IS located in Anderson Co. As closely as I can locate it, it is a couple of miles NE of Sandy Springs, just off State Highway 29 (Lebanon Rd.), and a few miles SE of Pendleton, not E of Pendleton.
