From a letter from Miss Florence Maple (Myrtle Gilmore's cousin): Quotes a comment made to her by Miss Alta Platt that "Hezekiah died und er mysterious circumstances, and they pointed to Roxie, but nothing was e ver done about it." Evidence established Rhoda Briggs, as Hezekiah's le gal wife at the time of his death on July 4, 1875. Rhoda's signature as H ezekiah's widow and executrix appears on the "true and correct list of t he Names, Ages, and Residences of the Heirs of the Estate". Roxie Shipp y is not named as an heir of Hezekiah Platt. Went to IL in 1829 stopped a t Champaign County and then to McLean County.
