Eve Celina Forsyth Bible - Holy Bible, printed by Historical Publishing Company, No. 418 North Third Street, St. Louis, Missouri. Publication date unknown. Original owner - Eve Celina Forsyth (Mrs. Louis A. Collier), daughter of Lucius Forsyth, Sr. and M. Doloure Salvant. Bible is now in the possession of Lee Joseph Collier. Entries copied and submitted to the Society by Hewitt L. Forsyth, August 2, 1961. Title Page - Given to Eve Celina Forsyth by her brother Gideon C. Forsyth, October 13, 1883. Subtitle Page - Entered according to Act of Congress in the Year 1882, by J.R. Jones in the office of the Librarian of Congress at Washington.
Then written, very legibly, is the following: "The Forsyths came from the Highlands of Scotland were of the first settlers of the town of Hartford, Connecticut had two children one son & daughter. The daughter died in her youth. The son moved to Groton, Ct & had several children among which was James Forsyth. who married Mary Mason & settled in Colchester Ct. and had children. among which was James. who removed to the Falls of Niagara and Jonathan. who removed to Genessee & died. Hannah who married James Winship and lived in Miami. & Hulda who married Dr. Philips. & John who married. Hannah Comstock. June 6th 1771. Gideon C. Forsyth married Sally Ransom. 13th March 1808. daughter of Elijah Ransom of Colchester Cont Gideon C. Forsyth & Elizabeth P. (Proctor) Brooks were married 3rd March 1828. by Rev. Mr. Hull. in New Orleans, La. she was the daughter of Hubble Brooks. of New London Connt. John & Hannah Forsyth had eleven children as follows:"

Bishops land thence South 5 degrees East 3 1/2 rods to a Corner, thence West 29 degrees South 9 rods to another Corner bear Samll Bishops Dwelling house, thence South 4 degrees East 11 1/2 rods to a Stake & Stones, thence East 160 rods to a Stake and Stones about it.
