The following is the only Mary E. Stamp I have found i n Ancestry.com accessible
records. I need to verify birth dates for Mary Ellen Stamp
A Mary E. Stamp was found living with Payton and Elizabeth Norvill and fa mily in
Warren Twp, Belmont, Ohio according to 1850 census.
Census records show the following:
Payton Norvill Age 40 Laborer born in VA Elizabeth " 60; Age 37 60; born in MD JoAnnah " ; Age 4 born in OH Richard T. " A ge 10/12 born in OH Mary E. Stamp Age 16 ; born in MD Ann M. ; " Age 15 0; born in MD Margaret E " Age 13& #160; &# 160; born in OH Catherine G " Age 12 born i n OH
As I read this, Mary, Ann, Margaret, and Catherine have the last name o f Stamp.
Notice that the two younger sisters were born in Ohio, thus apparently th e Stamp
family moved from Maryland to Ohio in about 1836.
Elizabeth Stamp married Pa yton Norvill
Based upon the immigrant records I have found, Stamp appears to be from
Germany.
