    DUNN -- George T. Bowling Jr., 74, of Dunn, died Friday in his home. Mr. Bowling was a Navy veteran of World War II and a correctional officer for the Harnett Correctional Institution in Lillington before retiring. An entombment service will be conducted at 3 p.m. Sunday in Devotional Gardens by the Rev. Everett L. Faircloth.

    Mr. Bowling is survived by his wife, Delphia L. Bowling of the home; two sons, Edward T. Bowling of Broadway and G. Creig Bowling of Angier; two brothers, C.G. Bowling of Erwin and Billy Bowling of Dunn; three sisters, Mary Hayes of Burgaw, Maddie T. Sizemore of Erwin and Lois Parker of Cameron; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

    The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 9 at Cromartie-Miller & Lee Funeral Home in Dunn.
