COATS -- Mrs. Elsie Mae Pope Byrd, 78, of Route 2, Box 807 died Thursday in her home. She was a homemaker. The funeral will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Sunday in Rose & Graham Funeral Home chapel in Coats by the Rev. Frank Neville. Burial will be in Devotional Gardens in Dunn.

Mrs. Byrd is survived by a daughter, Marjorie B. King of Coats; five sisters, Reba B. Williams of Coats, Edna Raynor of Raleigh, Hazel Tart of Dunn, Evangeline Barbour of Richmond, Va., and Lena Honeycutt of Grand Rapids, Mich.; a brother, M. David Pope of Gretna, Va.; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 9 at the funeral home.
