ANGIER -- Charles Dwight Parrish, 68, of 2250 Stephenson Road died Saturday in Johnston Memorial Hospital in Smithfield. He was a retired teacher and a retired sergeant-at-arms of the N.C. House of Representatives.

A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. today in Johnson Memorial Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church by J.H. Langdon, Sen. Dan Page, and the Revs. Billy Cashwell and Terry Golden. Arrangements are being handled by Rose & Graham Funeral Home of Benson.

Mr. Parrish is survived by his wife, Martha W. Parrish; a daughter, Celeste Byrd of Four Oaks; a son, Scott Parrish of Angier; a sister, Estelle Langdon of Angier; and four grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to Benson Grove Baptist Church building fund, care of Lavone Ennis, 1867 Zack's Mill Road, Angier, N.C. 27501.
