Ellington "Ell" Dudley, 94, of Dunn, died Saturday, Sept. 20, 2008, at Betsy Johnson Regional Hospital. He was born Oct. 26, 1913 in Sampson County, son of the late Amos Faddius "Thad" Dudley and Leona Edwards Dudley. He was preceded in death by his wife, Viola Denning Dudley; a son, Ray W. Dudley; and a brother, Carl Dudley.

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday at Stoney Run PFWB Church by the Revs. Murray King, Preston Heath and Johnny Hamilton. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Survivors include sons, Billy Dudley and wife Mary Ann, and Barry Dudley and wife Michele, all of Dunn; a daughter, Tanya Glover and husband Don of Dunn; sisters, Blanche Barefoot and Zola Blackman, both of Dunn, and Eleanor McCullen and husband Charlie of Clinton; 14 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 8 at Skinner & Smith Funeral Home. Memorial donations may be made to Stoney Run PFWB Church Building Fund, 12481 Harnett-Dunn Highway, Dunn, NC 28344.
