Mr. Oneil "Teeny" Young, 69, Owner and Operator of Youngs Auto and Salvage/Car Crusher Companies of Benson, Goldsboro, Spring Lake and Spring Hope, NC, died Saturday at his residence, 2530 NC HWY 242 South, Benson. Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Rose & Graham Funeral Chapel in Benson. Officiating will be the Rev. Glenn McCullen. Burial will follow in the Young Family Cemetery, Hwy. 242 South, Benson.

Mr. Young was born June 10, 1929, in Johnston County to the late Jefferson and Mattie Barefoot Young. Mr. Young was a very active member of his local and state community. He also served on the Benson Rescue Squad Advisory Council, and was instrumental in instigating the annual Car Raffle Drive. He was named Benson's Businessman of the year in 1992 by the Benson Area Chamber of Commerce. Mr. Young was a member of the United States Auto Recyclers Association and the North Carolina Auto Recyclers Association.

Surviving include wife, Reba Barefoot Young; sons and daughters-inlaw, Ricky Oneil and Betty Jo Young and Terry Lynn and Kathy Young both of Benson; sisters, Margelene Y. Young and Coralene Y. Sloan both of Benson; brother, Odious Young of Dunn; grandsons, Brent Young, a rising Senior at UNC-Chapel Hill, Brett Young and Tyler Young both of Benson.

The family will be at Rose & Graham Funeral Home in Benson from 6-9 p.m. Sunday.
