SPRING LAKE ? James Benjamin Flowers, 87, of 1002 Shady Grove Road died Wednesday in his home. Mr. Flowers was a retired farmer and carpenter. The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday in New Hope Baptist Church by the Revs. Frank Banas, Ken Owen and Art Tatum. Burial will be in Harnett Memorial Park in Lillington.
Mr. Flowers is survived by his wife, Novella S. Flowers of Bonneau, S.C.; three daughters, Ann M. Hess of Spring Lake, June S. Duarte of Oakland, N.J., and Melrose F. Krenek of Fayetteville; a son, Patrick W. Flowers of Spring Lake; a stepson, Richard Hope of Bonneau; three sisters, Selma L. Currin of Clinton, Lucille Matthews of Angier and Helen Rutkiewicz of North Grafton, Mass.; a brother, Brunner W. Flowers of Richmond, Va.; eight grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 9 at Adcock Funeral Home.
