ROCKY MOUNT -- Robert Carlton Fields, 92, passed away Wednesday, November 7, 2007. He was born April 26, 1915 in Wayne County to the late Wilbert O. and Mary Worrell Fields. Also preceding him in death, his first wife, Violet Fields; sisters, Gertrude Edgerton, Mary Helen Powell, and Elva Jones; brothers, Steven and Roland Fields. R.C. was a lifetime member of the Evening Lions Club.

Left to cherish his memory, his wife, Mary Fields of the home; sons, Robert C. Fields, Jr. and wife, Susan of Raleigh, Billy G. Fields and wife Carolyn of Smith Mt. Lakes, VA; daughters, Christine Shearin and husband, Phil of Louisburg, Miriam Brown and husband, Stanley of Rocky Mount; 9 grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren.

Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Evening Lions Club, P.O. Box 1104 , Rocky Mount, NC 27804. The family would like to thank Friends of Hospice and Home Health Care for their kind and compassionate care. A special thank you to his caregivers, Dottie Barnes, Joan Hall, and Elsie Barnes.

The family will receive friends at Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home on Friday, November 9, 2007 from 12:00-1:00 p.m. with funeral services to following visitation. The Rev. Stan Prewett and Rev. Stanley Brown officiating. Committal services will immediately following at Pineview Cemetery.
