BENSON -- Mrs. Inez Ryan Langdon Smith, 72, of Baileys Crossroads Road, formerly of Spring Lake, died Wednesday in Good Hope Hospital in Erwin.

The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Cromartie-Miller & Lee Funeral Home chapel in Dunn by the Revs. Jerome Pope and Kevin Edwards. Burial will be in Harnett Memorial Park in Lillington.

Mrs. Smith is survived by her husband, C. Thurman Smith of the home; two daughters, Sharon Gaskins of Dunn and Shelia McGill of Orlando, Fla.; two stepdaughters, Kathy Capps of Smithfield and Janice Slaughter of Four Oaks; two stepsons, Charlie Smith and Danny E. Smith, both of the home; her parents, John A. and Nancy P. Ryan of Spring Lake; five brothers, John P. Ryan of Four Oaks and John T. Ryan, Alexander Ryan, William Ryan and Bill E. Ryan, all of Spring Lake; four sisters, Geraldine Byrd of Angier, Christine Ryan, Dorothy Ryan and Sarah Cornell, all of Spring Lake; three grandchildren; eight stepgrandchildren; and nine stepgreat-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
