BENSON - Mrs. Callie Byrd Byrd, 101 of 6349 Elevation Rd., died Friday at her residence. A graveside service will be 3 p.m. Sunday at Devotional Gardens in Dunn. Officiating will be the Revs. King White and Jimmy Barnhill.

Mrs. Byrd was born September 14, 1900 in Johnston County to the late Thomas and Sallie Johnson Byrd. She was preceded in death by her husband, Zeb B. Byrd, Sr.; sons, Lee Thomas and Lacy Byrd; daughter, Geniel Byrd.

Mrs. Byrd was a member of the Benson Pentecostal Holiness Church, Banner Post 109 Ladies Auxiliary, Banner Home Demonstration Club, LIFE Group of the Gospel Tabernacle, N.C. Central AGLOW Group, and was a homemaker.

Survivors included: daughter, Sallie B. Wood of Benson; son and daughter-in-law, Z.B., Jr. and Marie Byrd of Benson; seven grandchildren, Renee' Wood, Lisa Carlson and husband, Chris, Charles Byrd and wife, Amy, Sandra Daniels and husband, Bill, Steve Byrd and wife, Karen, Phil Byrd, and Rodney Byrd and wife, Erica; 10 great-grandchildren, Callie, Ann Marie, and Covington Carlson, Zeb and Austin Byrd, Brent and David Massengill, Sandy Barnes, Phil, Jr. and Lee Byrd; three great-great-grandchildren, Tori and Savannah Byrd, and David Nathan Massengill.
