Mrs. Doris Jean Allen Hockaday, age 72 of Raleigh, died Thursday, August 24, 2006. Funeral Services will be Sunday, August 27, 2006, at 2:00PM at the Rose & Graham Funeral Home Chapel in Benson. Officiating will be Rev. Willis Herman. Burial will follow in Lee?s Chapel Advent Christian Church Cemetery in Four Oaks.

Mrs. Hockaday was born December 25, 1933 in Johnston County to the late John Avery and Della Lee Allen. She graduated from Four Oaks High School in 1952 and was the branch manager of Peoples Bank from 1975 to 1989. Mrs. Hockaday worked in the billing office of Wake Radiology from 1990 to 1997. Mrs. Hockaday was preceded in death by her Sisters, Rena A. Lynch, and Gladys A. Denning; Brothers, Monroe Allen, J.E. Allen, Almon Allen, Howard Allen, Leon Allen, and C. W. Allen.

Survivors include, Daughters and Sons-In-Law, Gwen H. and Philip Fusco of San Clemente, CA, Sue H. and Theo Beach of Raleigh, Carole H. and Joel Hardy of Stanley, Kansas, Nancy J. Hockaday of Dunn; Sisters, Glenda A. Woodard of College Park, MD. And Lanie A. King of Woodstock, VA; Brothers, Sherwood Allen of New Bern, Charles Allen of Glen Burie, MD; Special Friend, Clawson Hines of Raleigh; Eight Grandchildren and Three Great- Grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation, 1332 N. Halster Street Suite 201, Chicago, IL 60622. Family will receive friends at Rose & Graham Funeral Home in Benson from 7:00PM to 9:00PM Saturday, August 26, 2006, and other times at the home of Don and Jenny Johnson, 200 S. Pine Street, Benson.
