    Ernest Phillips, 85, of 305 West K St., Erwin, died Tuesday evening, March 28, 2006, at Betsy Johnson Regional Hospital in Dunn. He owned and operated Phillips Frozen Custard for more than 15 years. He was the son of the late James A. and Bessie Lee Phillips and was preceded in death by his wife, Isabelle Wade Phillips. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Friday at Price Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Currie Parker. Entombment will follow at Erwin Memorial Park.

    Survivors include sons, James W. Phillips and wife Linda of Erwin, Mickey D. Phillips and wife Lou of Durham; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

    The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 9 at Price Funeral Home and other times at the home of James and Linda Phillips in Erwin.
