    Clarence O?Dell Williams, 79, formerly of Coats, died Sunday, April 2, 2006, at Diversicare of Newport. He was born Dec. 4, 1926, in Harnett County to the late Albert J. and Flonnie Stone Williams. He was preceded in death by his wife, Marion Byrd Williams; and a daughter, Bonnie W. Cooper.

    Mr. Williams retired from Burlington Industries and was a member of Gift Primitive Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday at Rose & Graham Funeral Home Chapel in Benson by Elder Fred Williams. Burial will follow at the Byrd Family Cemetery.

    Survivors include a daughter, Barbara Hodges and husband Mike of Emerald Isle; a granddaughter, April Hodges; sisters, Vergie Knox of Coats, Ola Barefoot Wood of Benson and Dorothy Barefoot of Dunn; and a brother, Eugene Williams of Swansboro.
