***Note from Deb: W. C. Austin's date of birth is listed as 6 May 1853 on both his Death Certificate and his gravestone. This date, however, does not coincide with his age at any of the census takings from the time of his birth. For example, at the 1860 census, he was listed as 2 months old, and at the 1870 census, he was listed as 10 years old. I believe his birth to be actually around 1860. I found this trend of gross miscalculations of age to continue with W. C.'s own offspring as well.
