Thomas Judd Stancil, 81, of 669 Jackson-King Road, Angier, died Monday, Nov. 13, 2006. The Johnston County native was born July 11, 1925 to the late Lester and Pearlie Mae Ellen Stancil. He was a World War II U.S. Army veteran, a life member of the VFW and a retired tobacco farmer. He was preceded in death by a sister, Doris Stancil Chappell. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday at Angier Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Lakeside Memorial Gardens.
Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Thurlean Upchurch Stancil; a daughter, Debra Kay Stancil Hunt and husband Jon of Angier; a son, Lester Stancil and wife Nancy of Angier; sisters, Frances Fish of Fuquay-Varina and Mary Rose Painter of Charlotte; brothers, Ray and Carl Stancil, both of Angier, Russell Stancil of Cary and Robert Stancil of Buies Creek; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 8 at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home in Angier. Memorials may be made to the Angier Baptist Church Building Fund.
