    Catherine Upchurch Peede, 78, of 249 W. Stewart St., Coats, died Tuesday at Betsy Johnson Regional Hospital in Dunn. She was born April 7, 1925, in Harnett County to the late Ben and Alpha Stephenson Upchurch. She was preceded in death by her husband, J. Fleming Peede, who owned and operated Quality Auto Sales in Coats. Mrs. Peede was a member of Coats Baptist Church, a member of Coats Women?s Club and was a homemaker.

    Funeral services will be held Thursday at 10 a.m. at Coats Baptist Church by the Revs. Jesse Mooney, Ronnie Byrd and Chris Wroten. Burial will follow in Lakeside Memorial Gardens in Angier.

    Survivors include a daughter, Cathy Byrd and husband Ronnie of Coats; sons, Jerry F. Peede, Mike Peede and wife Kathy, and Tim Peede and wife Kathy, all of Coats; sisters, Thurlene Stancil of Angier and Peggy Morgan of Dothan, Ala.; grandchildren and spouses, Andrea Peede, Crystal Peede, Jeremy and Paula Byrd, Melissa B. and Stephen Pope, Amy Peede, John Peede, Nicholas Peed and Katie Peede; and great-grandchildren, Hannah, Kelsie and Dustin Byrd.

    The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 9 at Rose & Graham Funeral Home in Coats.
