    Alice Stewart West, 90, died Wednesday, Sept. 3, 2008, at E. Carlton Powell Hospice Center in Lillington. She was a lifetime resident of Harnett County. She was a homemaker and a founder of New Hope Baptist Church.

    She was preceded in death by her husband, William P. West Sr. Services will be held 2 p.m. today at New Hope Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery.

    Survivors include a daughter, Brenda W. Stevens of Willow Spring; sons, W.P. "Bill" West Jr. of Lillington, Wade West and wife Becky of Spring Lake, Gerald West and wife Pam of Carthage; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
