    BIOGRAPHY: Patented land on Lott's Branch Inn 1740. Lott's Mill is the old est known mill site in Wilson Co, NC and was established in 1744 and opera ted by him until 1749. Also later owned land in Edgecombe Co and Duplin C o, NC. John LOTT our Immigrant also purchased land in St. George's Paris h, Georgia in the 1750's and 1760's, who signed himself, "John Lott, gentl eman ..." In that age, this did not mean he helped little ladies across t he street and dressed well. It meant he bore coat armor. These are the ar ms recorded for the family in Devonshire, England.
