  • Note: James was born James E. Inman, but changed his middle name when he moved to OK to work with his cousin, Joel Elkanah Inman, who had the same middle name. He changed his middle name to 'L' to clear up any confusion. Therafter he went by and signe d his name as James L. Inman. Some family members believe that James' middle name may have been Elkanah, for his cousin was called 'Kaney' short for Elkanah, and according to Jane, James' middle name was Kaney/Caney.
