  • Note:
    - Born McHue-Jamestown area in Independence Co. AR. He married Mary Jane Clark who grew up on a neighboring farm at McHue. Robert and members of the Clark family Moved to Texas about 1908/9 where they joined other family members near Mt. Pleasan t in Titus County. About 1916/18 he along with several other family members moved back to Arkansas. They settled South of Newport in Jackson CO. where the family lived for several years in the Weldon, Island, and Ingleside Communities. About 193 3 he moved the family to a farm in White County located between Bradford and Russell, and finally in 1946 sold his farm and moved into the town of Russell where he lived until he died at home in 1952.
    - He was approximately 6 feet in height and had the Inman-Taylor appearance. He was stricken with an illness in early manhood that left him physically impaired, restricted his use of one leg and foot (Probably a mild stroke or some form of Paralys is). He had difficulty controlling this foot while walking, to overcome this handicap he fastened an ankle strap via a spring to the lower shoe string eyes on his shoe. With each step the spring would bring his foot to the proper position neede d for the next step. This condition was further aggravated later in life by Diabetes.
    - In conversation the phrases "Shoot Too", "Foot Too", "Now Hold on" , "Now It's a Cinch" would be used to ephasize his point. There may have been others.
    - Those who were at his bedside on the day that he died remember that he conversed at length with family members and friends who were no longer living.
