"Ernest also owned a used car business, drove a Seven-Up delivery truck, and worked as a cabinetmaker at the old Broadway Lumbe rCo. He was a avid member of the Knoxville Home Builders Assoc, and lifetime member of their Board of Directors, past "Builder of the Year", and was recipient of a "200 Penny Spike Award". He was a great dad and also took great joy in his grandchildren.

Ernest was a local contractor in the Knoxville area for many years before his death in 1988. I can remember him talking about playing and growing up in the Boyd's and Gist's Creek areas near Sevierville, and of course how far he had to walk to school." (Dave INGLE)
