1860 us census Cleveland, cuyahoga co OH Lorenzo Rogers aged 56, mary aged 56 born PA, Frank aged 14 born in OH. Lorenzo's birthplace is written "unknown" but his occupation is Methodist Clergyman. NOTE THIS LORENZO IS EXACTLY THE CORRECT AGE TO BE OUR COUSIN LORENZO ROGERS!; 1880 us census seneca co OH has a Lorenzo Rogers aged 61 born OH father b. VT mother born MA --so I compiled this Lorenzo as son of Lorenzo born 1804 VT; NOTE THAT FORSYTHE USES, in compiling the son, LORENZO JR BORN CA 1826-27 FROM 1870 US CENSUS OF SENECA CO. OH;
1850 us census of rutland Co. VT there is a Lorenzo rodgers aged 50 wife Lydia 47 kids David 10 and Mary 18 all were born in VT;
1840 us census of Crawford Co PA (near Erie Co PA) is a Lorenzo Rogers who seems to be possibly our cousin: 022001-010001 man and woman aged 40 a 5-9 nine year old girl and 2 boys aged 5-9 and two older boys over aged 10. The over 40-year ages seem inappropriate, but the kids could be from an approx 1825 marriage, and the geographical location is near where we suspect Lorenzo was from in 1820s in probably Erie Co. PA. NOTHING UNDER LOR--- RODGERS IN 1840 ;
1830 us census windsor co vt Lorenzo rogers 00011-000002 30 yr old man and two 40 year old women; 1830 us census harrison co OH Lorenza D Rogers 00001-10001 30 yr old man and 30 yr old woman and a girl under aged 5. next door a wm rogers jr, and next door on the other side a wm rogers Sr; ----- In 1830 us censu I don't find any Rodgers spelling, beginning Lor--, according to the Ancestry.com census search;
email 2006 june 6 from Gretchen R. Slota of Anaheim CA, member of Thomas Rogers Mayflower Society: I amazed to find that Lorenzo Rogers b. 1804 was a Methodist Minister. You know that my Grandfather, George Washington Corey, was a Methodist Minister, also. His mother was Nancy Rogers, sister of Harry. About Lorenzo, we have proof of his birth in Vermont in the Thetford Town Records, The Congregational Church of Thetford Records and the Bible records. I have his wife as Elizabeth Brown and his death as 17 Feb 1865 in Cleveland. About the Mary Rogers, I am confused. She was daughter of Zenas and married to James Crawford (he was brother to Polly Crawford who married Harry Rogers). That comes from the family Bible. Could that Mary be another generation? About Zenas' death and burial, I had already searched for records in the Village, Town and County. I was told that there were no records that early. I know that Hannah, Zenas' wife, had two brothers in the Chatauqua County at the time. I wonder if Zenas was buried on one of their farms. They were Jacob and John Annis. I haven't found and cemetery records published in their vacinity. There was a Zenas Rogers buried in Oak Hill Cemetery at North East, but he was a generation or two later than our Zenas. Also the stone for Hannah in the Crawford plot in the Oak Hill Cemetery has sunk some. It reads "Hannah, wife of Zenas Rogers" and below ground level is "wife of Asa Hall" ;
