    After his father Tilman's death John married Comfort "Ann" Orrell and raised his family
    in the Reeds Church area near Tyro and Lexington / Davidson County area.

    03/24/1862 He enlisted at 24 years of age and mustered in to served in Comp F, 42 REGT CSA for N.C.WAR OF NORTHERN AGGRESSION ALSO CALLED THE CIVIL WAR

    3/8/1865 he was wounded @ Kinston, NC (Fall of a tree )--June 1865 He was Discharged after release from being a POW
