      Heart Ailment Takes Mrs. Margaret Griffin

      Funeral services were held Friday, April 7th, 1:30 p.m.
      at Lait-Nunnelee Chapel, for Mrs. Margaret Anna Griffin, who
      died April 6th, 1944, 8:35 p.m. at the home of her son and
      daughter-in-law. Mr. and Mrs. Leland Griffin, 227 West Commercial
      Street. Her death was due to heart trouble and complications
      of which she had been ill for several months.
      The deceased was born August 5th, 1866 in Hickman
      County, Ky. She was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. John
      Bushart.
      Early in life she united with the Methodist Church at New
      Chapel, Ky. She had been a resident of this city for the past
      twenty five years. When quite young she was united in marriage to
      William Luten, of Kentucky and to this union was born one son,
      John Luten of Vicksburg, Miss., who survives her. Several years
      after the death of Mr. Luten she was united in marriage to
      Robert B. Griffin, who died in 1933. To this union were born two
      daughters, Miss Robbie, who died some thirty five years ago, and
      Mrs. Pauline Woodard, of Detroit, Mich. and three sons, Elvin and
      Leland of this city, and Ercell of Los Angeles, Calif. She is also
      survived by a step son, Marvin Griffin of Mayfield, Ky., twenty five
      grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. Also two sisters,
      Mrs. Lucy Campbell of Jackson, Tenn. And Mrs. Ella Byrnum of
      Milburn, Ky.
      Rev. J.C. Montgomery, pastor of the Methodist Church
      conducted the funeral service here after which the funeral cortege
      left for Oakwood, Ky., where services were conducted at 3 p.m.,
      at the Methodist Church with the pastor of the church officiating.
      Interment was made in Oakwood cemetery.
      Among members of the family here to attend the funeral
      was Mr. and Mrs. John Luten, who returned Monday to their home
      in Vicksburg, Miss., and Mrs. Pauline Woodard of Detroit, Mich.,
      who left Tuesday for Clinton, Ky.
