      Columbia, Tn. Newspaper. It was published on 7 APR 1942. The
      spelling of the last name is shown in the transcribed copy as it

      Driver for Alderson's Cleaner, Baptist, will
      be buried on Wednesday Afternoon.


      Joe Wallace McKennon, aged 22, died unexpectedly last night
      at 9:30 o'clock at his home at 312 West Eighth Street, after being
      ill only a few moments. Cause of his death was not immediately
      ascertained. However, no inquest was held.

      Mr. McKennon had worked as usual yesterday and apparently
      was in good sprits. His wife was nearby in the house when he
      became ill and he died after telling her a brief good-by. His death
      came as a shock to many friends.

      Mr. McKennon had lived in Columbia for the past few years
      and at the time of his death was a driver for Alderson's Cleaners,
      where he had been employed only a short time. He was the son
      of the late Edgar and Maggie Tyson McKennon of Rutherford in
      Gibson County where he was born and reared. He was a member
      of the Baptist Church.

      Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Sue Andrews McKennon; one
      daughter, Connie Sue; five sisters, Mrs. Carl Holt of Dyer, Tenn.,
      Mrs. Herbert Hughes of Memphis, Mrs. Felix Cumberland of
      Athens, Ala., Mrs. Billy Ingram of Brownsville, Texas, and Mrs.
      Walter Teagarden of Little Rock, Ark.; and two brothers, Edgar A.
      McKennon of Norfolk, Va., and Harry McKennon of Cape Charles,

      Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday afternoon at 3
      o'clock at the home at 312 West Eighth Street, with the Rev. W.E.
      Richardson, pastor of the First Baptist Church, officiating.

      Pallbearers will be S.K. Grayson, Billie Ingram, Carl Holt, Felix
      Cumberland, T.J. Alderson, and Lem Wagster.

      Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery with Oaks & Nichols in

      Joe Wallace McKennon, aged 22, died unexpectedly Monday night
      at his home at Eighth and Walker Streets.

      He was a native of Gibson County, a son of the late Mr. and Mrs.
      Edgar McKennon. He came to columbia four years ago and was connected
      for a while with Reynolds Drug Co. In recent months he had been
      employed by the Alderson Dry Cleaning Co.

      Survivors are his wife, Mrs Sue Andrews McKennon and a small daughter,
      also five sisters and two brothers.

      Funeral services will be conducted this afternoon at 3 o'clock at the
      residence by the Rev. W.E. Richardson and interment will be in Rose Hill cemetery.

      Oakes & Nichols, morticians, in charge.
