    Has anyone done any research on STERLING HUDSON (b. 1765 in NC - d. aft 1850 in Cocke Co., TN) son of Hall Hudson (b. 1731 VA - d. 1799 Surry Co., NC)?
    Did Sterling leave a will that included the names of his sons? Is there any evidence that leads to CLINTON HUDSON being s/o Sterling?

    Sources: Census Index: Colonial America CD #310 1607-1789, Hall Hudson is listed in Surry County, NC, 1786. 1790 Federal Census for Surry County, NC has a listing for a Hudson Hall. It is possible that the given name and surname are mixed up here. Hall Hudson Jr. and his wife Frances sold a tract of land to Nathaniel Chamberlin in Surry County, NC dated August 1787. Deed book C. November 3, 1784 A grant in which Hall Hutson sold 100 acres to the State of North Carolina located in Surry County, NC on Fisher River. Surry County Deed Book C, page 19. November 3, 1784 A grant in which Hall Hutson sold 200 acres to the State of North Carolina located in Surry County, NC on Fisher River. Surry County Deed Book C, page 136. September 4, 1792 A land deed in which Hall Hudson sold a tract of land to Sterling Hudson located in Surry County, NC on Fisher River. Surry County Deed Book G, page 28. February 22, 1802 A grant in which Hall Hudson sold a tract of land to the State of North Carolina in Surry County, NC. Surry County Deed Book I, page 414. Hall Hudson is not listed in the Surry County, NC 1800 Census but his wife Frances Hudson is listed. It is possible that this deed is actually for another Hall Hudson descendant.
